MCR40 is a macroporous chelating resin with polystyrene matrix and thiol function group.
MCR40 is designed for mercury selectivity
The particle size is in standard gaussian distribution with 0.315-1.25mm >95%.
MCR40 prone to oxidation and long-term contact with the atmosphere is detrimental because of its special structure. It is recommended to store and transport resins under the water protection.
MCR40 could adsorb various organic and inorganic mercury, have a strong removal capacity, Especial for mercury wastewater.
MCR40 is used to remove mercury from underground water, tap water, lake water source, and reduce the mercury concentration to less than 5ppb residual. For fine treatment, the operating flow rate should be controlled within 5-10BV/h.
MCR40 could be operated in a wide range of pH 2-10, but it is regenerated by HCl, through rinsing and reused.
But generally, MCR40 is recommended to be non-regenerated and treated as solid waste. For high concentrated mercury wastewater, Na2S could be used to precipitate mercury to reduce the ppb level, and precipitate mercury could be treated as solid waste. Then, MCR40 is used to remove mercury with ppb level in following fine treatment, and it could treat 104-105 Volume ratio of wastewater, so it is economical.
